Joan has a MFA in Dance from the University of Iowa, and a BA in Sociology and Chinese Literature from the Taiwan National Chengchi University. An Iowa Arts Fellowship recipient, Joan has performed with the Lan-Yang Dancers in Taiwan, and taught children in the Yu-Ho Dance Company and China Youth Corps.
