Jack Cumming is a dancer who lives in Iowa City and New York City. Jack grew up in Iowa City and trained at various local dance schools throughout Iowa City, Coralville, West Liberty, Maquoketa, as well as Chicago. Always a top Grand Champion Soloist in regional and national dance competitions, Jack has been a featured performer in various venues throughout the state of Iowa, as well as Chicago, Los Angeles, and NYC. Most recently, Jack performed Derek Grant’s choreography at the Symphony Space Theatre in NYC. Jack specializes in rhythm tap, with a hint of Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire as an influence to his style. Jack has had the privilege to train with some of the greatest contemporary tap artists, including Lane Alexander, Thommie Rhetter, Ray Hesselink, and Derek Grant, just to name a few. Jack teaches master tap classes in NYC at the Ripley-Grier studios, national dance conventions, and is excited to share his craft with others!
